Telecommunication giant Vodafone has described as factually incorrect, an investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw which indicated massive indebtedness to the Electricity Company of Ghana by companies including the 020 company.

The expose stated that the Office of the President – owes ECG GHS675,805.55; State House (Parliament) – GHS635,781.31; Police Headquarters – GHS393,736.65; Ghana Water – GHS617,105.51; Ministry of Finance – GHS524,924.67; Vodafone - GHS 886,814.15; MTN - GHS 349,811.19; Airtel - GHS56232.48. MTN and Airtel have disputed the report.

Latest to deny contents of the report is the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Kyle Whitehill.

He describe Anas’ investigative piece as fraught with sensationalism combined with factually incorrect information.

He says Vodafone owes ECG no arrears. Vodafone Ghana is paying a courtesy call on the Asantehene today where Mr. Kyle Whitehill says the company would be donating 20,000 Ghana Cedis to the Otumfour Education fund.

He tells Kapital News this is a demonstration of Vodafone’s importance placed on the region.

On World sight day Vodafone paid for the eye surgeries of over 2600 visually impaired people suffering from cataract, 250 of these patients were from Ashanti Region.
