J.J Defends John Mahama

Spokesperson to Vice President John Dramani Mahama has accused some critics of deliberately twisting the Vice President’s assertions on a conventional second term of office should accorded president John Evans Atta Mills. John Jinapor however explains that the Vice President rather said for the incumbent president to be properly compared with former presidents, he must be given a second term of office. The Vice-President, John Dramani Mahama is reported to have appealed to Ghanaians to give the ruling National Democratic Congress another term in office since previous governments of the Fourth Republic had eight years each. The first President of the Fourth Republic under the current 1992 Constitution, Jerry John Rawlings ruled from 1992 to 2000 whiles his successor John Agyekum Kufour took over from 2001 to 2008. However John Jinapor says his boss rather argued that in order for Ghanaians to make a credible and an unbiased analysis and evaluation of the achievements of all governments, including that of President J.E.A Mills of the Fourth Republic , it will be prudent to give his boss a second chance come the December elections. John Jinapor however maintains the unprecedented developmental achievements by the Mills administration will earn the government another term of office after this year’s polls. Meanwhile John Jinapor has been reiterating the Vice President’s commitment to resolving chieftaincy disputes and matters relating to the judiciary.
